National Geographic has joined the Brethren of the coast with a online 'fill in the fact' adventure game which is both educational and fun. Not to mention nicely illustrated. The characters that are mentioned were real and the basis of the nature of events really took place. But, like Hollywood, a little creativity was added to make it a little more entertaining. Learn about the famous Blackbeard, Samuel Bellamy and others. It is well worth a visit.

So when we saw a few paintings and this small 8 x 10 inches specimen for sale by an artist we dropped some doubloons on the table and made off with a good set. The scene depicts a battle between two ships which appear to be Fourth Rate class. The battle is taking place perhaps sometime in the late 17th/ early 18th century. The painting is signed by J. Small but not dated. We estimate it was painted in 1996. Order
